Celebrating the good, positive & outstanding within our South Florida LGBT community

February 2011

Hello –

As you may know, I am proud to be involved with Unity Coalition|Coalición Unida, a Florida non-profit 501c4 organization whose mission is the Leadership, Protection & Promotion of Latino|Hispanic LGBT rights (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender)-the only organization of its kind in South Florida since 2002.

Our work is 100% funded by fundraisers & private donations, and we are 100% staffed & managed by volunteers. Everything that comes in, goes right back out for programming, leading & assisting our community.

WHAT HAS UC|CU DONE LATELY?

affecting our community.

–          Hosted the only Latino|Hispanic LGBTQ Press Conference in the nation on Repeal DADT.

–          Sponsored various Repeal DADT efforts, including Walker Walks to Washington, meetings in Congress, & write-in

& phone campaigns to various elected officials.

–          Supported local & national campaigns & candidates that encourage pro-LGBTQ issues.

–          Provided free workshops in the community on Leadership, Public Speaking & Community Outreach.
