With the first African American president elect in office, an undeniable air of unity and sense of community permeates throughout the country. In an even more over due precedent just 5 short months ago (November 2009), the City of Miami Beach commissioners “OK’d” the use of flying gay pride flags in gay owned and gay friendly establishments in Miami Beach, one of the country’s largest GLBT populated cities.
In a Historic and monumental decision ,The city of Miami Beach, The Most famous sandbar in the world, will join the ranks of world class cities like Sao Paulo, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Madrid that officially Honor the gay & Lesbian Community by hosting it’s first city Supported pride Event April 18, 2009, Thanks to Miami Beach Mayor Matti Bower.
Bower States, “It is hard to believe a city as diverse and as inclusive of the GLBT community as our city has not had an official Miami Beach Gay Pride in the past”. She adds, “I am very Proud to be a part of such a historical event in our community and will make every effort to ensure that Miami Beach Gay Pride 2009 will be a success.”
In the spirit of inclusiveness and community it is no less monumental that DJ Maximus 3000, has been chosen to provide the Main stages “T-Dance” musical selections as the one and only official DJ. Heralded as a Crowd pleaser amongst His fan base; DJ Maximus 3000 is known for playing a barrage of “mashups” and “open Format” beats from Dance, Rock, Pop and more, with ease, alongside his signature nostalgic Electro-house Sets ( A very groundbreaking move for a Gay Pride celebration when the main stage is usually reserved for the well-established Circuit DJ).

She began her career in the freestyle era singing Billboard dance hits like “Dancing On The Fire” and “The Lover Who Rocks You” then became known as the “Princess of Salsa”, a name given by her godmother Cuban Legend Celia Cruz. She recorded “Love And Happiness” a worldwide hit with former husband Dj Little “Louie” Vega, recently India has had several dance hits including The #1 remix to “I Can’t Get No Sleep” and The DJ Roger Sanchez produced “Music Is My Life”.
Fanny Lu: Latin Grammy nominated singer and songwriter from Colombia. Her recent hits include “No Te Pido Flores”, “Y Si Te Digo” and the Billboard Latin #1 “No Eres Para Mi”.
Ceevox: Known for her many Billboard Dance Hits this soulful house-music singer has gone international, working with the top producers and remixers in songs like “My Imagination” and her recent smash “In The Night”.
Carol Jiani: Nigerian-Canadian singer based in England best known for her early 1980’s classic hit “Hit N Run Lover”.
Miami Gay Men’s Chorus: an inclusive, community-based organization of gay men and gay-supporting people that inspires and changes lives through the power of music.
Patty LaBelle: Grammy winner, American R&B and soul singer-songwriter and actress. Known for her passionate stage performances, wide vocal range and distinctive high-octave belting. Some of her biggest hits include “Lady Marmalade” and “On My Own”.
Richie Rich: American fashion designer and celebutante. Today he is part of the fashion duo known as Heatherette (together with Traver Rains). Richie released an album called “Celebutante” on October 21st, 2008 on record label Defend Music. The album is a compilation of songs including tracks from Lily Allen, Mya, Scissor Sisters, Blondie, and one from Richie himself, also titled “Celebutante.”
