HOMES 4 HAITI, MARLINS VILLAGE AND GOOD KARMA COMMUNITY CENTER HAITI FUNDRAISER/HOLIDAY KICKOFF SHOPPING EVENT AT SAKS FIFTH AVENUE DADELAND BENEFITING FOOD FOR THE POOR, INC

MARLINS BASEBALL PLAYERS, DJ/PRODUCER MAXIMUS 3000 & SOCIALITE PHILANTHROPIST KIMBERLY SHENKER-BARCARDI JOIN FORCES WITH FOOD FOR THE POOR AND SAKS FIFTH AVENUE DADELAND TO RAISE MONEY AND CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN HAITI.

Although it has been nearly 10 months since the people of Haiti experienced a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 earthquake, millions of people still remain completely homeless, without basic necessities and borderline starving. January 2010’s Port-Au-Prince earthquake destroyed a staggering 250,000 homes and 30,000 commercial buildings, among the hundreds of thousands killed and injured, over 1 million Haitians remain completely HOMELESS.

Miami Socialite, philanthropist Kimberly Shenker-Barcardi , and founder of the “Kim’s Good Karma Group” (A helping hand organization helping other non profits) Has teamed up with the highly successful Florida Marlin’s Baseball Team fundraising campaign “HOMES 4 HAITI”benefiting and working directly with Food For the Poor , INC , to create a community center in The Marlin’s Village (the newly erected residencies for hundreds of Haitians, and the fruit of the efforts of the campaign) aptly titled the “Good Karma Community Center” .

The Florida Marlin’s “HOMES 4 HAITI” campaign has raised $63,000.00+ dollars towards its $150,000.00 dollar goal for Food for the Poor, INCand continues it’s effort to build homes and save lives for many Haitians in need. On Friday November 5, 2010 Ms. Barcardi , The Marlins , Saks Fifth Avenue and Many more philanthropists, celebrities and socialites will be present to kick off the holiday shopping season right!

Hors D’oeuvres , and cocktails will be provided by Fleming’s Steakhouse , special gourmet cupcakes by “Cupcakes by Hilda” and goodies galore are sure to present. As an added bonus, Erwin Creed , heir of Creed fragrances will be on hand to take photos and sign bottles of the couture fragrance boasting as the oldest family run fragrance line in the world celebrating 250 years of product. Be sure to take advantage as this is being slated asErwin’s final public appearance.
